Berey Koy:  Unité

Berey Koy is a hip hop band from Niger (no homepage available). The members of this group are Féodal, Papson (Papa Diablo) and Soul B (info). The group is formed in 2001 and stems from the Hip Hop dance group MATASSA (youth). The name beerey koy means possessor of knowledge.

The group won the national Nescafé African Révélations (NAR) in Niger in 2004 and became third in the regional final that found place in Accra (read here and here articles in French about national winners in 2003, 2004 and 2005). Their first album 'Garde Espoir' was published in 2006, Their second album 'Justice' was release in 2008.

The title of the song Unité is French means unity. The song is in French and Zarma. The bilingual refrain is written out as good as possible and a rough translation is given.
