The spelling is based on the act of 1999 and used in most of the literature published this century, however, alternative/old spellings will be given in this dictionary as well.
Word order:
- Doubled vowels are not taken into account by placing the words in alphabetic order. Therefore you will find, for example, 'baani' after 'bangu'.
- There are two letters in Zarma that do not exist in English, these are Ŋ / ŋ and Ɲ / ɲ; the alphabetic order is .. - N / n - Ŋ / ŋ - Ɲ / ɲ - O / o - ..
