Dictionary Zarma - English

Introduction
This dictionary contains words used and explained in the lessons of the Zarma language course. For most words reference is given to the specific lesson. For each letter of the alphabet a separate page is available. You can go to the specific page using the menu on the left. Use the search option on the right to find a word, or use the menu on the left to go to a letter.
The spelling is based on the act of 1999 and used in most of the literature published this century, however, alternative/old spellings will be given in this dictionary as well. Word order: Doubled vowels are not taken into account by placing the words in alphabetic order. Therefore you will find, for example, 'baani' after 'bangu'. There are two letters in Zarma that do not exist in English, these are Ŋ / ŋ and Ɲ / ɲ; the alphabetic order is .. - N / n - Ŋ / ŋ - Ɲ / ɲ - O / o - ..
